Preheat oven to 400 F
Make sure your puff pastry is unthawed. Place it on a flat, floured surface and roll out gently until it's a fairly even shape, not too thin. Let it rest while you prep the filling
Mix together the goat cheese, salt and fresh garlic. Blend until the goat cheese is smooth and soft and spreadable.
Roll up the edges of the puff pastry and pinch in place to create a border for the filling
Divide the goat cheese mixture in half and half evenly on each puff pastry. Go slow to be sure not to tear the dough.
Spread a thin layer of the Maple Bacon Jam over the goat cheese
Take the beaten egg and brush it gently over the rolled edge with a pastry brush
Slide the tart onto a tin foil covered baking sheet and put into the oven. Bake for 35 minutes, or until the edges are a nice golden brown
Serve while warm for best results
